Saves will work in desktop and android versions for sure. The web player sorta saves progress if you close the tab, but only until the browser decides to clear its memory - it's browser by browser, and it depends on extensions and performance/security settings.
Whenever the Act 3 builds get posted, it's recommended to download a copy to get the full experience!
Spoiler alert your save is totally not gonna carry over xD. But you can start a new game, go to the options > enable the chapter select cheat, go back to the main menu and start at chapter 3

Dont download from links in the comments they are FAKE, and will get you hacked don't download from "Dev Slime" and other users if you download them they are ratware and will steal EVERYTHING from EVERY browser they possibly can.

no idea with the state of visa/mastercard/steam. If they’ll have us at all, we were planning on submitting the act 3 public release just to see if we can even get in.
the game isn’t where we want it to be yet for steam at all (since polish and perfection is kinda necessary there or bad reviews xD) so we’d prefer to keep waiting. But we get why we might not be able to.
Releasing this game on Steam would better cater to people in region-locked areas, and I believe this is a more rewarding approach compared to releasing it on Itch.io. Players from different countries can purchase the game using various payment methods. I think putting it on Steam as soon as possible is the best option. (I've already been waiting for a long time.)

There are NO patches, the itch developer team of any studio has not claimed or updated on anything, dont download from anywhere your dumb if you do

you have to actually REMOVE it from your system, use the control panel app and then goto programs and feautures, and forcefully uninstall it
